Buddy Up!

Isn’t it great when there is something you know you should do, but you don’t want to do it, so you get a friend to help you along and everything gets finished in no time? Then you wonder why you didn’t get started on it sooner. Weight loss can be the same way. Find trusted friends and family and let them know what you are doing. Find an exercise buddy to take a walk or a class with, and maybe someone with whom you can discuss your eating habits.

You do need to pick this friend/family member carefully! Ever had a friend jealous of your accomplishments? They seem like they want to be helpful but just end up undermining you. They try talking you out of your exercise class or try to get you to eat something that you are trying to avoid. They say that one won’t hurt you. Then they go on to talk about how you are wasting away and pretty soon you will blow away with the wind, even though you might have lost only one pound of the 20+ you need to lose. These are not the buddies for you.

You need to choose someone who understands your goals and is supportive of your efforts. This person will stand in front of you and scream for you to step away from the fridge when the midnight ice cream is calling you. S/He will get you out of bed in the morning when you decide that exercise is overrated and sleeping in is the way to go. S/He will be your cheering section when you accomplish your goals and your confidant when you have set backs.

This person can be someone that you actually get together with, or talk to on the phone, or even video call. You can find people on online forums, social networking sites, or specific weight loss sites. You just need to make sure that this person is supportive of you and your efforts. If you are confident in yourself and your goals, you can even start your own networking efforts and let people find you.

Keep It Up!

Normal 0 false false false EN-AU X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Okay, so now you have looked over your eating habits, made some changes, and have increased the exercise you get during the day by changing small things. And now what?  I bet you haven’t seen the scale budge one pound have you? Don’t be discouraged! The weight did not go on overnight, so it will not come off overnight. Consider this...did overeating one night put all of the weight on you? Was it only one meal where you overindulged and in the morning, poof!, on came all the extra pounds? Of course not. So guess what? This is how the weight will come off too. Sometimes there will be a couple pounds lost, other times the scale won’t budge for awhile. Is this a reason to lose oneself in a hot fudge sundae the size of a football stadium? No! This is the time where you tell yourself that losing weight is a process that has ups and downs but the ultimate goal of weight loss is so worth it.

Now is the time to work more exercise into your daily routine. While taking the stairs instead of the elevator, add in a walk during the day or take an exercise class you have always wanted to try. Most gyms offer a free trial membership and there are studios that offer free classes. This is where you can get a feel for what the classes would be like and your general fitness level. It is also good to set up some mini-goals to accomplish. Setting up mini-goals gives you that sense of accomplishment and makes your overall goals more manageable.

While reviewing your exercise goals, it is good to review your eating habits as well. You have taken your Skinny Fiber, so second helpings are no longer calling you, but are there still foods that call your name? Ones where there is no second helping because the first one is so big? That hand going into the chocolate bowl that doesn’t stop until the chocolate is gone? Do you know what I am referring to when I say you can’t eat just one? This is another place where Skinny Fiber is helpful.

By having the glucomannan expand in your stomach you can actually have regular sized first helpings as well. This way you eat a smaller meal and feel fuller. You will feel lighter as well. All of that extra food weighs you down, zapping your energy, and making you need a nap in the middle of the day. And those pants a size bigger or elastic-waisted because your regular pants don’t fit anymore! Won’t it be nice when these are all a thing of the past?

So make sure you add regular exercise to your day (a walk, a bike ride, or an introductory class), review your eating habits again (what foods do you still have a problem with, etc), and what are your mini-goals that you have set up? What would you like to accomplish this month? This week? Today?

New Year, Same Old You? Change That!

Normal 0 false false false EN-AU X-NONE X-NONE

Everyone starts the year with lofty goals. The goal is usually: “This will be the year that I lose that extra weight.” Then the year begins. You get busy, and the next thing you know, it is already a couple months into the year. You can’t seem to remember what it was that you wanted to accomplish. Change this! Don’t be that person. Make this the year that you accomplish your weight loss goals.

I know, easier said than done. Losing weight is hard. It takes dedication, hard work, a great deal of exercise, and hardly eating anything! But ask yourself, is this true? Or is this just what you have said to yourself to set yourself up for failure? Is it really that hard? Are there little things that you can do every day to increase your exercise without changing too much of your routine? Small changes you can make to your diet daily or weekly that won’t be too dramatic? Of course there are!

One change to your exercise routine could be to take the stairs more often. You can also park your car farther away from buildings. This will lead you to increase your walking for the day. If there are activities that you normally do sitting down, try them standing up—reading a magazine, sorting through items, but not eating. Eating should be done sitting down in a relaxed atmosphere to aid in proper digestion.

Another area to review would be your eating habits. If you often drink pop or soda during the day, switch it out with water (flavored or unflavored) a few times. Say no to second helpings. You can wait 20 minutes after you clean your plate the first time to determine if you are really hungry for seconds. It takes this long for your stomach to register that you are full. How much more would you normally eat in those 20 minutes? Then you get that dreaded overfull feeling. Never good! Another way to keep your portion size in check is to take Skinny Fiber.

Skinny Fiber is a phenomenal product that can help you reduce portion size by giving you that full feeling sooner. The key to Skinny Fiber is glucomannan. Glucomannan is a soluble fiber that has been stated to increase in size in your stomach, thereby allowing you to eat less and still feel full. Wouldn’t it be great to eat a regular portion for dinner (not the overinflated portions there are now) and be satisfied? Really satisfied? This is what Skinny Fiber can do for you!

How great would it be to be able to fit into those skinny jeans again? Let’s do it!
